ATIONS, By Shel Silverstein

The Tigers reading group looked at the poem ATIONS, by Shel Silverstein.  They used the ipad to take pictures of each of the ation words.  Once they were happy with their pictures they used imovie to put them in the right order and record themselves reading the poem.  Here is the finished movie.

Poem Madness

This week is all about poetry, we are reading it, writing it and thinking about it all day long!  One poem we have been practicing reading with expression is One Two by Shel Silverstein.  Here is a recording of Faith and Constance reading the poem.  We hope you enjoy it.

Bananas Bananas by Faith

Faith felt so inspired by conversations with Judi that she decided to perform a poem that she had written with a friend earlier in the year.  She practiced and recorded herself in her own time.  Great job Faith.

Talking About Writing

Yesterday we were very excited to get a comment on our blog from a published author and poet, Judi Billcliff!

We were so excited we wrote straight back and read some of her poems and we have started a conversation.  Today she wrote a new post on her blog and included a poem about Room 4!

Now we are all inspired to read and write poetry.  Thanks Judi, we can't wait to share our poetry with you!
