Making china dolls with Room 9!

This week we learned how to make china dolls. We were so lucky because Miss Elliott invited all the girls from our class to come and help Room 9 with their dolls. We even got to make our own dolls!

Thank you Miss Elliott - we feel very special to have been chosen to help your class!

THE PRINCE AND THE COIN By Patience

Once upon a time, a long time ago, there was a king and a princess. The princess was so very beautiful. She has a crown on her head. It was a shiny crown. The king was kind. The king had a shiny crown too. They lived in a big, big castle. It was dark, scary and spooky.

The king and princess could not sleep because it was a stormy night. Someone started to knock at the door. It was the prince. The prince was sad, cold, lonely and wet because it was raining and he had no crown. H was very handsome. The prince needed someone to stay for the night. The king didn’t believe that the prince was a prince. The king let the prince stay for the night but he put 100 mattresses on top of each other for him to sleep on.

When the prince was ready to go to sleep he went to get a drink of water then the king secretly put a coin under the bottom mattress. The prince went back to bed but the prince couldn’t sleep. There was something under the mattresses.

In the morning the prince said, “King, what is this coin under the mattress?” The king smiled then and said, “You are a prince.” The king knew the prince was a prince. The king let the prince marry the princess. When they got married she was as beautiful as the sun. The prince and the princess lived happily ever after.
