We have been learning to write persuasive letters. We decided to write to Nick Smith to ask him to do more to protect the Maui dolphins. Here is Demetrius's completed letter.

Hi Demetrius, How fabulous you wrote a letter to Nick Smith. I hope he replies to you soon. I think letter writing is very important, and what a great teacher you have encouraging you to write such wonderful persuasive letters.
I think letter writing is so important that this year I started a new day called SNAIL MAIL Day. SNAIL stands for Send 'Nyone An Interesting Letter. Maybe next year your school could be involved. There is a page about it on my website for kids to read and join in.
